News Reports and Updates
There has been a systematic strategy by militant Hindu political groups to commit religious cleansing genocide against all Christians in the India state of Orissa, home of 36 million people, arguably the poorest state of India. The latest violence against Christians started on Christmas Eve 2007 with forced re-conversions, killing, burning churches and homes and was ignited again statewide on August 23, 2008 after the murder of the Militant Hindu Swami leader by Maoists rebels who repeatedly claimed responsibility for the murder. However, grieving militant hindu leaders blamed the Christians and murderous riots started.
